Day 4 Vegan Challenge with Kushite's Vegetable Cuisine

Man seeks to change the foods available in nature to suit his tastes, thereby putting an end to the very essence of life contained in them. ~ Sai Baba

Breakfast ~ Pancakes with chocolate and berries. Lemongrass Tea.

Chocolate Berry Pancakes

Food porn much!! All I'm gonna say is that it was as yummy as it looked.

Lunch ~ Guava BBQ Mushrooms with Arugula Salad & Lentil Soup

Lentil Soup

Kushite's didn't think i got enough lentil goodness so they sent on this tasty lentil soup to further captivate me. It went very well with the salad too. It's safe to say that lentils have been added to my grocery list. It's high in protein so its great for vegan diets.

A photo of this salad was posted on Kushite's Vegetable Cuisine's Facebook page a couple weeks ago and I believe my comment was "This looks soooo yummy!!" *drooling* I love mushrooms! Could not wait to try this and guess what? I was not disappointed. It's everything I need in my salad.

Dinner

~ Platter (Mini curried pumpkin sambusas, cajun tofu sticks, mini jerked beet pizza, mini green split pea balls) with Sorrel chutney and guava BBQ sauce
    Jamaica Jerk Pita Burger
    Escoveitch Tofu
    Moringa Wine, Sorrel Cranberry Wine
Riad

My friend Yahamana joined me for dinner and we were seated for dinner in the Riad, a Moroccan room at Kushite's Vegetable Cuisine. Moroccan culture is African but unfortunately we never get to experience as many incorrectly see it as middle eastern. As you can see from the pictures its a beautifully decorated room and makes a great get away spot for couples, cool hang out for friends, private space for family gathering. I very much enjoyed the space to comfortably dine with shoes off as we were catered to like the queens we are! :)

Vegan Platter
The platter was a perfect combo of sweet and spicy. The Curried Pumpkin Sambusas was my favourite, i love pumpkin...hmm just realized i'm a little foodie :)...I already spoke about the Jerk Beet Pizza so you know how good that is. I was so much in a lentil groove that i thought the Green Split Pea balls were lentil balls. They left the platter quickly lol. The Cajun Tofu sticks were pretty good especially with that Guava BBQ sauce

Jamaican Jerk Pita
Amana had the Jamaican Jerk Pita Burger but she was so full from the platter that she wasn't able to finish. I couldn't help her either, I needed room for my Escoveitch Tofu.

Escoveitch Tofu

Escoveitch is always good...what Jamaican doesn't love it?? I always like to play with tofu and prepare it different ways so I will be trying this at home. Oh yea, it was served with rice & red peas. I love red peas and i always eat them out and leave the rice and this occasion was no different lol.
